Prepare yourself for COVID-19




Lock down has been a huge adjustment for all of us as we learn new skills to survive in what is going to be a different world. With this in mind, the next topic will take my 1st broadcast a little further- How to prepare your body for Corona virus infections.

Firstly, follow all the recommendations of disease prevention from reliable sources, especially SOCIAL DISTANCING and HYGIENE recommendations. EAT HEALTHY, EXERCISE MORE, limit/QUIT YOUR BAD HABITS and take PROVEN SUPPLEMENTS to prepare your body, not prevent an infection. Also make certain you take quality supplements, and an adequate dosage for your needs. One size does not fit all.

The risk factors for severe Corona virus infections are continuously being adjusted as we learn more, increased AGE AND CHRONIC ILLNESS increase risk, as with all illness. OBESITY is now being considered one of the most significant predictors of illness outcome. With the high rate of INSULIN RESISTANCE and DIABETES (independent risk factors) worldwide, we are still facing a looming crisis. Eating correctly and exercise has never been more important than now.

Below please find a summary of the recent recommendations from The Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), leaders in research and training in supplementation and disease prevention. Once again, due to lack of research and experience with Covid-19, these recommendations are based on treatment of similar viral strains and illness.

CURCUMIN: 500-1,000mg 2x daily (Curcumin has been shown to reduce inflammation and decrease viral activity for COVID-19)


QUERCETIN: 1000mg 2x daily (Immune aid and reduces viral growth)

ZINC ACETATE, GLUCONATE, CITRATE OR PICOLINATE LOZENGES: 30-60mg daily in divided doses (Antiviral activity)

N-ACETYL CYSTEINE: 500mg 2x daily (Reduces severity of viral infections and promotes glutathione synthesis)

VITAMIN D: 5000iu 1x daily (Immune aid, reduces viral growth and can reduce

upper respiratory infections)

VITAMIN A: 10,000-25,000iu daily (Anti-inflammatory and improves resilience of respiratory linings)

VITAMIN C: 1,000-3,000mg daily (Immune aid and improves healing time)

ELDERBERRY extract: 500mg daily (Antiviral)

MELATONIN: 5-20mg 1x daily (Modulation of immune response to help minimise COVID-19 damage)

GREEN TEA (EGCG): 4 cups daily or 225mg extract daily (Anti-inflammatory and inhibits viral replication)

RESEVERATOL: 100-150mg 2x daily (Antiviral)
